The Karakoram area is like a great walk — it will takes you into the heart of the Karakoram to the base camp of k2 (8611 w) From Kashgar drive for two days to the roadhead at Mazar, where pack camel train and crew assemble the loads for the days ahead, route of approach crosses the high desert of the Kirghitz nomads, then you '11 ascend the Aghil Pass(4870 meters). After down the pass, the expedition will take shap as your camel train fords the swirling waters of Upper Shaksgam to reach the k2 B. C.

Detailed Itinerary:

DURATION: 89 DAYS

Day 1: Arrival in Urumqi, check in a hotel.

Day 2: ln Urumqi, a day of rest and visit.

Day 3: Flight (1400 km) to Kashgar and check in a hotel.

Day 4: Ride (270 Km) to Yecheng.

Day 5: In Yecheng, reorganization and outfiting equipment, do some shopping for replenish mountain goods and sightseeing.

Day 6: Ride(260 km) to Mazar

Day 7: Ride to 25 Bridge (25 km), pack—animals waiting there.

Day 8—13: Trekkking with pack-animals to B.C. ( 3800 m)

Day 14—75: At B.C. the basic program — the ascent.

Day 76—80: Trekking with pack—animals from B. C. to 25 Bridge, vehicle will be waiting there.

Day 81: Ride to Mazar.

Day 82: Ride to Yecheng.

Day 83: In yecheng, a day of rest.

Day 84: Ride to Kashgar.

Day 85: Sightseeing in Kashgar. Day 86 Flight to Urumqi.

Day 87—88: In Urumqi to visit Heavenly Lake.

Day 89: Depart from Urumqi.
